Samsung unveils the Galaxy S9 and S9+ with Reimagined Camera in India

As expected, Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in India on Tuesday at an event in New Delhi. These Samsung flagship smartphones were first introduced at MWC 2018 in Barcelona last month. Samsung has also announced new features like AR Emoji, better version of iPhone’s Animoji. Samsung also improved S9’s rear camera with dual aperture f/1.5 & f/2.4 with super slow-mo features. The new Galaxy smartphone comes with new 10nm processors and AKG Acoustics-tuned dual speakers with Dolby. Whereas, the design of the new Galaxy S9 is exactly same as its predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with 5.8-inch Infinity display, whereas the Galaxy S9+ sports a 6.2-inch Infinity display. Both phones have the same resolution of 1440×2960 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Both the variants houses with the Samsung’s Exynos 9810 processor clocked at 4×2.8 GHz Mongoose M3 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A55, only Exynos variants will be available in India.

The smartphones have been launched in India comes with two storage options 64GB and 256GB and coupled with 4GB and 6GB of RAM respectively. Both variants have the capacity to expand storage up to 400GB via micro-SD card.

Now coming to the camera, the Galaxy S9 sports the single 12-megapixels rear camera with the dual aperture (f/1.5 & f/2.4), whereas the Galaxy S9+ comes with a dual 12-megapixel rear camera with 2x optical zoom and dual f/1.5 & f/2.4 aperture. Both smartphones can shoot videos at [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] The front camera is of 8-MP with aperture f/1.7, dual video call and Auto HDR.

Connectivity options include, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, FM Radio, USB 3.1 Type-C. Sensors include Iris scanner, fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate, SpO2. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are powered by 3000mAH battery and 3500mAH battery respectively with Quick Charge support and Fast Wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is priced at Rs. 57,900 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 65,900 for 256GB variant whereas, the Galaxy S9+ costs Rs. 64,900 for 64GB and Rs. 72,900 for 256GB.
