South Korea tech giant Samsung has launched its new flagship smartphone called Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The company has unveiled this smartphone at an unpacked event 2017 in New York. The Galaxy Note 8 comes with a giant 6.3-inch screen, dual camera and updated S-pen. In the US, the note 8 is priced at $930 (roughly Rs 60,000) and $960 ( around Rs 61,500) depends on different variants.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Specifications
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 featuring a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with 521 ppi and resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels. The default resolution of the smartphone is Full HD+, but the user can change the resolution to Quad HD+ from Settings. The phone has a Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on top. The device dimensions are 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm and weigh 195g only.
Processor, RAM & Storage
Talking about the processor, the Galaxy Note 8 comes in two different processor variants. Out of two one is powered by Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC clocked 4 cores at 2.35 GHz & 4 at 1.9 GHz. This variant will be available for only USA & China. The other variant is powered by Exynos 8895 octa-core SoC clocked 4 cores 2.3 GHz & 4 cores 1.7 GHz and this variant will be available globally.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with 6GB RAM and three different storage variants 64/128/256 GB. The storage can be further expandable up to 256GB via Hybrid SIM-slot.
On the camera front, the Galaxy Note 8 is the first flagship device from Samsung that consist the dual camera setup. The smartphone sports a 12-megapixels dual camera at the rear and both camera support OIS ( Optical Image Stabilization). Out of two, one is a telephoto camera, and another one is wide angle camera. The dual camera comes with f/1.7 & f/2.4 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The dual camera setup supports the pro mode. Panorama, slow motion, hyper-lapse, food mode & RAW photos. Also, capable of shooting video in 4K at 30Fps.

Battery, Connectivity, and Sensors
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 packed with a 3,300mAH battery which is 200mAH less than its predecessor the Galaxy Note 7. Considering the safety and the blast incident of note 7 last year the company decided to lower the battery capacity. The Galaxy Note 8 battery has passed through the 8 security checks of confirming its reliability. The smartphone supports the quick charge and fast wireless charging too, and the device has USB 3.1 type C connector.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, ANT+, USB Type C, NFC, GPS and Glonass. Sensors include Iris sensor, Pressure sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Heart Rate sensor and more.
The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and soon upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo. The Galaxy Note 8 and the S-pen are IP68 certified; they both are protected against dust ingress water resistance.
The pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 starts from August 23 in the selected countries. The smartphone will be available for purchase from September 15 in the US & UK and from September 22 in Australia. The Note 8 comes in 4 different color Midnight Black, Deepsea Blue, Orchid Grey and Maple Gold.
