Nokia 8 Launched with Carl Zeiss Dual Camera, Snapdragon 835 & More

HMD Global has launched its first High-end smartphone, the Nokia 8 in an event which held in London on August 16. The Nokia 8 will be available at price Euro 599 ( ~ Rs 45,000), and the global sale will start from early September. Most likely the Nokia 8 will makes its way to India at the beginning of October.Nokia 8

The Nokia 8 is one of the best smartphones in design till now in 2017. The smartphone made up of 6000-series aluminium and comes in full metal unibody. The phone has the fingerprint sensor on the bottom front along with capacitive keys on sides. Above, you will get a 13MP selfie camera with LED flash and an earpiece. The Nokia 8 measures 151.5mm x 73.7mm x 7.9mm and weighs 160g.

The smartphone sports a 5.3-inch display with gorilla glass 5 protection on top. At the rear, the smartphone has vertically placed dual cameras. This is the first device from Nokia after signing the contract between Carl Zeiss and HMD global last month. Both rear and front cameras are from Carl Zeiss brand, and both sides have the LED flash. The phone is IP54 certified, that means it is splash proof too.

The Nokia 8 provides 5.3-inches thin bezels IPS Quad HD (2560X1440) display. The smartphone has powered by latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC which has 4 Kryo cores clocked at 2.5GHz and 4 Kryo cores at 1.8GHz. The smartphones come with latest LPPDDR4 4GB of RAM and 64GB UFS2.1 internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via Micro SD Card slot.

The Nokia 8 sports dual Carl Zeiss 13-megapixels camera with an RGB+Monochrome sensor at the back. One of them enabled with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and another one is simple Mono with F/2.0 aperture, 1.12um, PDAF and dual tone LED flash. At the front, the phone has 13-megapixels camera with 1.12um, f/2.0, PDAF and display flash. Both front and rear camera are capable of shooting 4K videos.

Nokia 8 introducing the new “Bothie” mode, where the user can use both front and rear camera to capture photos and videos at the same time. Nokia said this would be a convenient feature for video blogger and YouTuber’s as well as for Facebook and Instagram live streamers. All this you can do with Nokia’s native camera app.

Other specifications such as connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS+GLONASS, NFS, ANT+, USB Type 3.1 and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors include an Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, E-compass, Gyroscope, Fingerprint Sensor, Hall sensor, and Barometer. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, and Nokia promises to update on Android 8.0 ASAP.

Nokia 8 Price and Availability

HMD Global announced that the Nokia 8 smartphone would be available from early September globally. The global average retail prices are expected to be Euro 599, but prices might vary country to country depending on their taxes and customs. The Nokia 8 will be available in 4 vibrant colors Polished Blue, Polished Copper, Tempered Blue, and Steel.

According to the HMD global, The Nokia will arrive in India in early October. The officials do not yet disclose the pricing, but we are expecting that the Nokia 8 will launch at the same global price in India. Stay tuned with us for more updates on the same.
