Airtel Offers 4G Smartphone at Effective Price of Rs 1,399 to Compete with Jio Phone

To challenge Reliance JioPhone, telecom company Airtel has launched a very cheap 4G smartphone. For this, Airtel has partnered with Karbonn Mobiles and this handset will be known as Karbonn A40 Indian. The shocking thing is that the Karbonn A40 Indian is an old smartphone which has been selling for Rs. 3,499 so far. It is also available on Amazon India. Now, this phone is being sold for Rs 2,899 with the special offers of Airtel. Airtel claims that its effective price will be Rs 1,399. Remember that the Jio Phone was launched at Rs 1,500 and phone is effectively free.

Karbonn A40 Indian Specifications and Features:

Karbonn A40 Indian has a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen. It will come with a 1.3GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. Inbuilt storage is 8 GB and if needed, up to 32 GB MicroSD card can be used. This dual SIM smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. This means that users will be able to access Google Play Store, i.e. apps like YouTube, Whatsapp and Facebook will work on the phone.

This phone, shared by Karbonn and Airtel, has a 2 megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel front camera. The phone comes with 4G connectivity. This smartphone will work on Airtel VoLTE network. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The handset will be pre-installed with Airtel’s app like MyAirTel, Airtel TV, and Wink Music.

Karbonn A40 Indian and Airtel Offers:

Customers will need to pay Rs. 2899 for purchasing this handset. If customers recharge for the next 36 months on the Airtel network with a plan of Rs. 169 each, they will receive a cashback of Rs. 500 for the first 18 months. After the completion of 36 months, a cashback of Rs 1,000 will be given. In this way, the subscribers will get a cashback of Rs 1,500 and the effective price of the phone will be Rs 1,399. The interesting thing is, to get a cashback, you do not have to return the handset like a Jiophone. Also, the amount of cashback will come in the user’s Airtel payment bank account.

Airtel’s Rs. 169 plan:

Airtel and Karbonn Mobiles have come together for the ‘My First 4G Smartphone’ program. Airtel has introduced a new plan of Rs 169 for this 4G handset. The validity of this Recharge plan will be 28 days. It will come with unlimited calling facility and customers will get 512 MB 4G data every day to use. It is reported that if the customer wishes, then any other recharge plan can be selected. But after doing this, cashback will not be given. If the customer uses this SIM in another handset, the validity of the plan of Rs. 169 will be 14 days instead of 28 days.
