MediaTek has announced two new mid-range chipsets Helio P23 and P30 on August 28, 2017. How powerful your smartphone all depends on the chipset within the device. Qualcomm, MediaTek, Intel, SpreadTrum, and Samsung are some of the big names that are used prominently in smartphone chipset market.Competition in the mobile CPU division is very tough and fast paced in the smartphone market at the present time. Now, MediaTek will gain an edge over launching two new mid-range chipsets in the Helio P range. MediaTek Helio P23 and P30 are mid range mobile chipsets and better in terms of value for money. Smartphone OEMs will definitely like to take advantages of new capabilities of both of new chipset. Before we talk about the basic features of MediaTek Helio P23 and P30, it is important to tell you how chipset is beneficial for a consumer.
Salient Features of MediaTek Helio P23 and P30
Dual VoLTE/ViLTE SIM Dual Standby:
The first thing is that the Helio P23 will be a gift for the 4G VoLTE connectivity in the changing digital era. This new Chipset will support the world’s first 4G VoLTE / ViLTE dual-SIM dual-standby smartphone. In the simple words, in the smartphones with Helio P23 and Helio 30 SoC, you will no longer need to swap your SIM cards in order to use High-Speed 4G with voice on the LTE band. Currently, the mid-range smartphone supports 4G VoLTE only on the one SIM slot preferably first SIM card slot whereas the other supports 4G and sometimes 3G only. But this problem will end after the arrival of the Helio P23.
MediaTek Helio P23 and P30 smartphone chipsets will support dual cameras. However, we all have seen that mid-range phones such as Moto G5S Plus come with dual cameras. In this new MediaTek Helio P23 and P30 smartphone chipsets, a dual camera will be a standard feature. Helio P23 supports dual 13-megapixels camera setup or a single 24-megapixel camera sensor. On the other hand, Helio P30 supports dual 16-megapixels camera sensor configuration.

These two chipsets, MediaTek Helio P23 and P30, will be available in the market by the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year. While the Helio P30 will be globally available at the time of launch. P23, on the other hand, will be launched initially in China only. The Global availability of MTK Helio P23 is not yet confirmed.
