The official booking of Reliance’s free JioPhone will start on August 24, but selective offline retail stores of Delhi-NCR have already started taking the order of this handset. That is, going to these stores, you can get a chance to book JioPhone before millions of people in the country.
How To Book JioPhone
To book JioPhone, your Aadhaar Card photo copy is mandatory as an identity proof and you have to give it to official Jio retailer at the time of purchase. You will also need this Aadhaar card copy in the Reliance Jio Outlet. At the moment, a person only can book one JioPhone from their Aadhaar card number across the country. Therefore, you should remove this illusion from your mind that you can book several handsets by visiting different shops. After giving the copy of Aadhaar card, your details will be uploaded in the software. After this, you will get a token number. This token number will work when taking the phone.
Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced on July 21 that customers will have zero rupees for the applicable price of JioPhone. But initially, Rs 1,500 will be charged as a security deposit. However, on booking JioPhone in the offline market, you will not give any amount except giving an Aadhaar number. After getting the handset in your hand you will have to pay Rs. 1,500. According to Jio, after using JioPhone for 36 months, the customer can get this amount back.
Customers who book JioPhone now will get the handset between September 1 and 4. Delivery is likely to be delayed because might be the number of JioPhone booking increases in the coming weeks. In the Annual General Meeting of Reliance Jio, Mukesh Ambani had said that the delivery of Jio Phone will take place in the month of September. However, no date was stated. The company plans to make this handset available to 50 million subscribers every week.
From August 24, this handset can also be booked from Jio official website.
